This was one of the last greenhouses that I painted. I composed it from a drawing that I had created in the same spot from which  I had painted The Potting Shed.

It was painted a few months before my first child was born. I finished the painting from my imagination, placing a Night-blooming Cereus that was blooming in my studio at the time, inside the entrance to the potting shed and my childhood cat George in the doorway. I enjoyed working almost completely out of my imagination in this piece as I wanted very much to paint these magnificent greenhouses at night.
